Day trips

 

And yes, that is my finger. What?  It's a new phone.

 

Well, our anniversary was coming up quickly and we didn't know what we were going to do.  We are saving up for a house but didn't want to do nothing.  The idea of just going out to eat bore me to tears but our semi-annual trip to Disneyland was just not possible... only because we are going in December (ha!).  What to do?

Then it hit me!  Well, actually it hit my friend.  Take a trip to the town over on the train and just walk around, hang out in the park, and eat at the local fountain shop.  It would be great.  My friend has a set of triplets and they had just taken the trip to Hanford on the train with their daycare group.  Here they are below.  Awe aren't they cute? Shane, Bryce, and Reese wearing caps and bandanas the daycare provided and of course the outfits were my friend's idea.  This family doesn't do anything small!

The trip was a great idea!  The kids got to ride a train, see a different town, and eat ice cream.  Now that was what we should do, and it's what we planned on doing up until a week out.  I was looking for a coupon when I stumbled across our tickets to Universal Studios.  My husband and his family took a trip to Universal Studios last year for his brother's birthday and being me I purchased a 2 day pass because they cost just as much as one day passes.  Well, a whole year had passed and if we didn't go now the second day would be wasted.  So we went.  Here are some pictures of our trip.  I took these with my brand new iPhone 5s.  This is my first smart phone (I am a little behind the times) but it took great pictures and I was able to load my trip up to Instagram instantly.  Very exciting. 

 

 

They had actual puppetry in the Universal Studios memorabilia room.

This was Coraline, but they also had ParaNorman and a ton of stuff from other Universal Studios films and TV.

This was the 45 minute wait we had in the sun at the Studio Tours ride.  There was a whole other batch of people waiting to the right for a whole hour to ride it in a different language.
